Prospect Hill is
listed on the National Register of Historic Places
where it is described as the "Charles and Annie Quinlan House." The
Inn is located in Waynesville, North Carolina, the county seat of Haywood
County. The house is located on an acre of lawn and mature trees, at the edge of
town on Main Street. It occupies the high land
in town, and enjoys excellent views of the mountains
on all sides. It was originally the home of a
Confederate Officer who became the County Judge. He gave the property to his Daughter after a
fire in 1899 and at the turn of the century, she and her husband rebuilt the old house.
Prospect Hill was acquired by the present owners in 1993, and has now been completely restored. Today
the house closely resembles that of a hundred years ago. Bathrooms, air conditioning
and cable television have been added to all of the bedrooms.
A wireless broadband internet network has been installed. Top of the line
mattresses with feather beds, and down comforters in Winter, assure a good night's sleep. The massive
front porch
is a happy jumble of wicker, rockers, chaises, plant pots, puppies and reading materials;
and in Summer, the hanging flower baskets and feeders are attended by the
Hummingbirds.
Inside, the antique furnishings, rugs and artwork
combine easily with the character of the old house to create again the ambience of a fine
country home at the end of the Victorian era. We will be delighted to welcome you
to
our home.
Guest rooms are
all on the second floor. Each
bedroom has a private bathroom, cable
TV and individually controlled air conditioners, some have ceiling fans
and small refrigerators. The
Television sets are all equipped with a DVD/CD players and our high speed
wireless network is accessible from all of the bedrooms. If your laptop is WIFI
equipped, you'll have free unlimited broadband access to your e-mail and the internet while you
are here. The rooms are furnished with antique furniture
and accessories, oriental rugs and artwork, in many cases the art and
accessories came from the places for which the rooms have been named. All rates
are for one or two persons and include breakfast.
A third
person in the room, on a folding bed, is $25 per
night. The rates do not include the 10% County sales and occupancy taxes.
