This collection of photographs was taken on a day in October on two or three different mornings, while I was walking around Lake Junaluska.
There was still good color on the trees and one morning we had an early morning mist over the lake.
Lake Junaluska is close to US route 19 in Western North Carolina and only about 3 miles from Prospect Hill.
The lake is named for an honored 19th century leader of the Cherokee people.
His body was buried at Robbinsville, NC, which was the starting place of the "Trail of Tears"
It's a very popular place for early morning walks since there is a footpath entirely around the lake, through the fields and the woods.
It's about a 3 miles walk.

Some of the photographs were taken with a Canon 30D with a 24 - 70mm lens, and some with a small Casio Exilim pocket camera.
