Waynesville is in Haywood County in Western North Carolina, close to Interstate I-40, 30 miles west of Asheville and 90 miles east of Knoxville, TN. The town is located on a high plateau at 2800 feet, surrounded by national forests, mountains and parks. The Pisgah Forest, Nantahala Forest, Joyce Kilmer Forest, Blue Ridge Parkway and Great Smoky Mountains National Park are all a short drive away.
